Dr. Toreno joined the educational team at EVMS in 2015, working to create an Ultrasound scanning laboratory and integrate Ultrasound into all years in the undergraduate MD curriculum. Dr. Toreno helped to establish the excellent working relationship between the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program at Tidewater Community College (TCC) that both institutions still benefit from.
Previously, Dr. Toreno served as Program Director of the DMS program at TCC for over 20 years. Dr. Toreno believes in giving back to her chosen profession, and has done for years through service to her professional communities, including to the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) as a Continuing Education Committee member, the Joint Review Committee in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS) transition committee, the JRCDMS as chair and past-chair, and site visitor, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) as a member of the nominating committee, as a member of the board of directors, and as a member of the educators committee, and Sentara Hospital for Extended Recovery where she currently serves as secretary.
Felicia loves to travel and is learning to speak Gaelic. When home in North Carolina she lives with her family, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and her chickens.
