I am an adult educator with a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Old Dominion University. The foundation for my research and teaching is built on 16-years of experience at multiple top-ranked, research universities and is informed by educational experiences studying and working at urban research universities. I earned a Master's of Education in Adult Learning and Development at Cleveland State University, and have held leadership positions in career services at the College of William and Mary, and Case Western Reserve University and have provided consulting services to the University of Richmond and George Washington University.
My research examines higher education as a driver of economic opportunity and social justice and contributes to the conversation around high-skilled student mobility, global workforce development, and immigration policy. I am an editor for the Journal of Higher Education Politics & Economics and the Journal of International Students, and am an active member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), and the Comparative & International Education Society (CIES).
