Research
research overview
- I seek to utilize tools from the social sciences, such as qualitative interviews, mixed-methods research, and medical ethics, to address issues related to the triple aim of healthcare reform. I see dermatology as the ideal clinical sub-specialty to tackle questions related to diversity in medicine, racial inequity, and racial health disparities. In our advocacy and research priorities, I believe that dermatologists should be leaders in dismantling the racist architecture that underpins our medical institutions. I also have interests in tropical dermatology, global health, and global-local projects that increase access and quality of care to underserved populations. Separately, I am interested in initiatives to decrease physician burnout and enhance resiliency in the medical training experience.
