  • Dr. Fore-Arcand is a Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences where she has served for 27 years. She serves as Education Specialist, co-director of the integrated addiction medicine curriculum and coordinates the psychiatry resident research and rural psychiatry education. On a national level Dr. Fore-Arcand is co-director, faculty, and developer for the Education Scholars Program for the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry (ADMSEP). She is Secretary and Newsletter Editor for ADMSEP and served as the Co-Director of the ADMSEP Scientific Poster committee for 7 years. She is a council member of ADMSEP, a reviewer for the AAMC annual conference submissions, and has been a reviewer for Academic Psychiatry for since 2005. She serves as chair for the Virginia medical schools Interdisciplinary Summit for Addiction Education annual meeting and on the Virginia Department of Health Professions- workgroup that developed core competencies for addiction and pain management and opioid prescribing. Dr. Fore-Arcand completed her doctorate in education from the College of William and Mary and masters degree in education from the University of Virginia. She completed her internship at the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services in Richmond, Virginia. She recently completed a certification in the International Program in Addiction Studies through Kinds College of London, The University of Adelaide in Australia, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
